PickPic is just like the software you use on your own computer — only it's designed to run from a web server instead.
So in order to harness PickPic's awesome powers for the sake of good and not evil, you'll need a compatible web hosting account capable of delivering cutting-edge performance and technology.
You can expect to typically pay somewhere in the range of $12-$18/month for the features you'll need.

An SSL (or secure) certificate is a file that creates the secure environment for your clients to submit their sensitive payment information.
PickPic requires what's usually referred to as a personal SSL certificate. That's one that's registered under your own domain name.
Some hosts still require you to purchase personal certificates through them, often resulting in high fees and other charges. If your host, however, allows you to install a certificate from a 3rd party, you can really save some duckets! For instance, you can obtain a personal SSL certificate for less than $15/year through Go Daddy, and many hosts will install it free of charge!
Check with your web host to see what your options are when it comes to personal SSL certificates.

With an SSL certificate you can securely accept credit card information, but what do you do with all those pretty numbers when they start flowing in? (Hint: You don't want to run and hide.)
A merchant account allows you to process your clients' payment info.
PickPic supports regular retail merchant accounts, which means you can accept credit card payments and then process them manually at your discretion, via either a terminal or a telephone.
PickPic 3 introduces support for a second type of merchant account: realtime payment processing via a gateway account. This means a card is approved and billed at the time the order is placed, and funds are transferred directly into your bank account.

Once all the hurdles are cleared, we complete your PickPic installation. While the process is underway, you're free to do virtually anything you want to do that the law allows: take pictures, apply a few gaussian blurs, deal with the enchanting mother of a bride, or maybe even write a haiku or two.
