Lickity Pixel's PickPic 3 lives!

Major upgrade aims to redefine host-it-yourself proofing

February 14, 2007 — Lickity Pixel today unveiled PickPic 3, a major upgrade to the host-it-yourself proofing system that has garnered the respect of many of the world's foremost wedding and portrait photographers since its introduction in May 2004. The upgrade — in development for nearly two years — boasts over 200 new features and enhancements, including a streamlined interface designed to ease browsing and shopping.

"When we set out to create the next generation of PickPic, it became clear during the process that we had a unique opportunity to analyze the entire online proofing process and come up with a new approach that we think will really show people the way it should have been done all along," said Troy Widner, Lickity Pixel's Chief Pixel.

At its core, PickPic 3 is a high-powered application designed to run from a photographer's own web hosting account. Once professionally installed by Lickity Pixel, the photographer simply uploads image galleries. Their clients are then able to view the galleries and submit order and payment information via a secure checkout process. The photographer is in full control of pricing and product offerings, and can track order and client activity as well as manage their galleries all from one convenient control panel.

Among the new features, PickPic 3 boasts the following:

User-configured pricing, discounts, shipping and preferences.
Full support for albums and products.
Drag-and-drop simplicity throughout, including album image selections.
Integrated favorites area, including the ability for clients to transfer items into their cart.
Simplified 4-screen checkout process.
WYSIWYG cropping previews for any print ratio.
Image magnification that is automatically available for all images.
Support for registry credits, gift certificates and promo codes.
Client login system allows access to cart and favorites contents from multiple computers.
Comprehensive order management.
Fully automatic thumbnail and toning/border image generation.
Fully-customizable tones and borders.

PickPic 3 will be initially offered in a "Standard Custom" configuration for an introductory rate of $1049 (USD). The one-time fee covers professional installation, including logo and color integration.
