Troy Widner announces availability of online proofing solution System delivers proofing simplicity for iView MediaPro users May 27, 2004 — Digital media consultant Troy Widner has introduced a unique host-it-yourself proofing solution for photographers that he is calling The iView MediaPro Shopping Cart Solution. The system consists of two major components: professionally-installed server software and HTML template files designed to work in conjunction with iView MediaPro, a leading image management tool for Macintosh and Windows. A photographer simply creates image galleries in iView MediaPro and uploads those files to his or her own web hosting account. Clients are then able to view the galleries and submit order and payment information via a secure checkout process. "My wife Rebecca wanted to take advantage of the fact she already had a merchant account," said Widner. "Hosting online galleries herself seemed a logical extension of that." Development on the solution began in June 2003 and the finished result was in active use by November. Since then, it has undergone rigorous testing through constant day-to-day use. Professional installation of the system includes configuration of the script files and is available for $425 (USD). If a user wants a more customized interface, additional charges apply.
